About Our Team

Rachel Howell

Rachel is manager of The Natural Alternative and graduate of Colorado State University with a B.S. in Dietetics. During her five years on our team, Rachel has aided hundreds of individuals in developing a sustainable, healthy lifestyle they love and feel great about. Rachel is a positive, empathic individual excited about helping others. She is accepting, encouraging, and enthusiastic. Rachel’s expertise includes high-protein, plant-strong diets, navigating food intolerances, and developing movement and mindfulness practices.

Moriah Walter

Moriah has been part of The Natural Alternative team for 6 years. Originally from Santa Cruz, Moriah moved to Paso Robles in 2016, happened upon our store, fell in love, and began working with us. Having worked in the field of health and nutrition for over 40 years, Moriah is a huge asset to our community. Moriah has experience as a massage therapist, birth doula, and is extremely knowledgeable about herbs and supplements. Moriah's extensive experience in health and nutrition make her a wonderful addition to The Natural Alternative team.

Megan McGeary

Megan has been with The Natural Alternative for 4 years under the mentorship of Bobbi Conner, CNC, ACN, MH. Megan is passionate about integrative health, nutrition, and yoga. Megan enjoys spending time by the ocean, teaching yoga classes, and practicing mindful meditation. Megan is eco-conscious and believes in protecting the planet. She is a great resource for chemical-free living and non-toxic home products. Megan's caring nature and her commitment toward living sustainably make her a wonderful asset to our holistic nutrition center.

Jessica Umphenour

Jessica joined The Natural Alternative team in 2021. Jessica is a fantastic resource for questions regarding digestive issues such as IBS and SIBO. Jessica is the perfect person to ask how to choose a suitable probiotic, and how to improve your gut health overall. Jessica is extremely knowledgeable in areas such as sports nutrition and exercise science. As such, Jessica is also a wonderful resource for questions surrounding collagen, protein, and natural pre-workout products. Jessica’s kindness, knowledge, and passion for exercise, nutrition, and organic cooking make her a valuable asset to our team.

Crystal Powell

We are excited to introduce our newest team member and Assistant Manager, Crystal! Crystal joined our team in March of 2022. Passionate about plant medicine, Crystal is an aspiring Herbalist. Crystal truly enjoys guiding others on their personal wellness journeys. As a child, Crystal’s passion for health was ignited by her great grandmother, Esther, who was a Holistic RN. Crystal is a mother of four beautiful, free-range children and is a wealth of knowledge on raising kids without chemicals.
